Operators should insist on cleaning the equipment at any time, keep the filter press clean and tidy, so that there is no filter cake and sundries around the equipment. There are two possible methods of washing that are being employed, the "simple washing" and the "thorough washing". For simple washing, the wash liquor flows through the same channel as the slurry with high velocity, causing erosion of the cakes near the point of entry. Thus the channels formed are constantly enlarged and therefore uneven cleaning is normally obtained. A better technique is by thorough washing in which the wash liquor is introduced through a different channel behind the filter cloth called washing plates. It flows through the whole thickness of the cakes in opposite direction first and then with the same direction as the filtrate. The wash liquor is normally discharged through the same channel as the filtrate. After washing, the cakes can be easily removed by supplying compressed air to remove the excess liquid.

Too small will cause greater leakage and damage the machine. The insulation and reliability test of the electronic control system should be carried out regularly. It is found that the electrical components caused by the electrical components are not accurate and inflexible, and the electrical components should be repaired or replaced in time. It is necessary to check the seal surface of the filter plate to ensure its smooth and clean. Before pressing, the filter cloth should be checked carefully to ensure its unfolding, no breakage and no slag, so that it is smooth and complete to ensure the filtering effect, and at the same time, the filter cloth should be rinsed regularly to ensure the filtering ability of the filter cloth. In the initial stage of pressure filtration, the filter is turbid. When the filter cloth forms a layer of filter cake, the filtrate will become clear. If the filtrate is always cloudy or mixed, it may be the filter cloth is damaged or the hole is deviate from the plate hole. At this time, the valve should be closed or the feed material should be stopped to replace the filter cloth. A small amount of leakage caused by filter capillarity is allowed between the filter plates.
